Team colors: Silver, Teal, and Yellow
Some say Thickbrix does not belong in the Black Diamond League, writing them off as a mere placeholder for next season. Those people do not understand the enduring legacy of one of the most resilient teams to suddenly emerge. A Bush League squad as recently as '83, Thickbrix fought through a global wildcard circuit to earn a spot in the qualifiers. Then, win after steady win, they edged out the elite to cross the line into the bigtime. Despite this success the franchise is still operated by the same 100 year family-owned Thickbrix brick company from the sticks of town, a local operation that prioritises building results off today's hard work.
Criticisms that they are 'not up to standard' miss the point: Thickbrix wants you to play their game on their terms. When they control the game, they control you. While other teams scrambled to poach stars during the free-agent scuffle, Thickbrix spent their offseason securing the futures of the players who, just three years ago, weren't even paid as semi-pros as part of the company team.
They may not be the most athletic roster, but what they lack in nuance, they gain in pure, raw power. Though they aim is to improve their agility and stamina, it is their QUAKE hits and IRON BALL pitches that will have you shaking in your shoes when they come to town.
